ChatGPT can now see, hear and talk

Will it never end! OpenAi keeps hitting it out of the park with almost weekly updates and innovations that have massive implications for all our jobs.

OpenAI’s latest innovation is adding the long expected voice and vision capabilities.

Your new ubiquitous mobile voice assistant

Soon (if you’re a ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise customer) you’ll be able to have a back-and-forth conversation - ChatGPT as your assistant. OpenAI are pushing this out to IOS and Android so clearly the game plan is to own mobile. This means you’ll be able to speak with it on the go, request a bedtime story for your family, or settle a dinner table debate.

If and when OpenAI makes personal assistants that learn about you and leverage all your location, search and environmental info, this will mean having a ‘Her’ like PA that can be buddy (lover), slave and therapist in your ear 24/7.

With it’s new vision capabilities you can show ChatGPT one or more images. e.g. explore the contents of your fridge to plan a meal, or analyze a complex graph for work-related data. To focus on a specific part of the image, you can use the drawing tool in our mobile app

Spotify is going to clone podcasters’ voices — and translate them to other languages [Link]

Spotify is launching a pilot feature called Voice Translation for podcasts, which uses AI technology to translate podcasts into additional languages while retaining the original podcaster's voice style. The technology aims to offer a more authentic and personal listening experience compared to traditional dubbing. For the pilot, Spotify has partnered with podcasters such as Dax Shepard, Monica Padman, Lex Fridman, Bill Simmons, and Steven Bartlett to offer AI-powered voice translations in languages like Spanish, French, and German. This feature will be available to both Premium and Free users. An initial bundle of translated episodes is being rolled out, starting with Spanish, followed by French and German. The company plans to use feedback from this pilot to inform future expansions and innovations.
